DOING THE JOB RIGHT THE FIRST TIME
By Rich "MR POS" Wilkins
(Spiritual Version)

Statistics show that it costs American consumers millions of dollars a year when workers don't do the job right the first time. I often hear comments from people in the business world such as, "It's not the best, but it's good enough for government work." "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Doing the job right the first time is not an obligation, it's an attitude. It is the first cousin to the attitude of taking pride in whatever you do. If you don't feel good about yourself, generally you won't feel good about what you do. Something that I have discovered that makes people feel good about themselves is when they do something that inspires others. Doing the job right the first time is something that can become an inspiration to others. Have you ever thought about who is your greatest competitor? If you haven't, then let me tell you who it is. It is you! You are the first person you have to get past to doing anything better. Because of all the negatives we heard as a child, we wind up beating ourselves up as an adult. Go beyond that by understanding that you are your biggest competitor and reprogram yourself to believe that you can do the job right the first time. When you believe in yourself, you will become an inspiration to others around you!
