U TILIZING MY
TALENTS EVERYDAY

Do you realize that you have talents that you haven't even discovered
yet? Someone once told me, "Talents are the gifts that God gives
us, and what we do with our talents are the gifts we return to him."
Just as muscle in our body needs to be exercised to become stronger,
we also need to utilize our talents everyday so that God may bless
us with more talents. Utilizing our talents and being blessed by
God is a process that starts with becoming aware of how God works
with us. His normal way is working through a process. Work that
begins with a word may take time to complete. Although Israel was
freed from slavery overnight, it still required forty years to reach
the Promised Land. Christians are born anew in an instant, and in
a process that lasts a lifetime, God makes them new. It gives God
a great deal of pleasure to give you more, but He also says that
if you don't exercise your talents, you are doing yourself and others
a great disservice and He will "shut down" the process. Matthew
reminds us of this great principle in the New Testament in Matthew
25:29 by saying, "For everyone who has will be given more, and he
will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has
will be taken from him."
