T AKING PRIDE IN A JOB WELL DONE
By Rich "MR POS" Wilkins

To produce quality products and services today, companies are investing in the quality process to get their workers to take pride in their jobs. We constantly hear how important it is to take pride in a job well done. In order for people to take pride in anything that they do, they must value what they are doing, and who they are doing it for. As you become aware of why you are doing something, and the value to the person or company you are doing it for, it has a very POSitive impact on the end result. I have found that when we as God's children accept His loving grace and His Son as our Lord and Savior, we begin the process of taking pride in every job that we do. When we become aware of who we are in Christ, we transcend to a spiritual motivation that calls us to take pride in everything that we do. Paul, who at one time took pride in persecuting Christians but was transformed by Jesus, reminds us of taking pride in what we do in Philippians 1:27 by saying, "Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ." As Christians we can allow ourselves to take pride in what we do when it is done in Christ's name because He expects us to do all things to the best of our ability.
